For a reason

The FDA allows the use of 76 ingredients in winemaking in the U.S. that DO NOT have to be disclosed on the label

These hidden ingredients are what give you headaches and contribute to you feeling less than 100% the next day.

To maintain the control and integrity of our wines, we only work with certified organic growers and wineries. By using regenerative farming practices and avoiding pesticides and herbicides, we are able to produce wines that are delicious and complex without any of the "doctor-ing" methods that are commonplace in U.S. winemaking. Many expensive and well known brands use ingredients in their wines that they'd rather not tell you about. Some are toxic to humans and others are just gross and unnecessary.

You will NEVER find any of of these additives in Medly wines.

ORIGIN STORIES

Our Mediterranean wineries and vineyards date as far back as the 15th century. Our winemakers and family of growers have had juice in their veins for up to 16 generations. We know each of them, we break bread together, our families hang together. We make wine together.

FRANCE

Our hunt for the perfect partnership in France led us to the oldest family growing vines and making wines on record in the Languedoc. They’ve been independent wine growers since 1605. They maintain an intimate and respectful relationship with nature.

In 1991 the family pioneered the conversion to organic grape farming, becoming one of the first Languedoc winemakers to go green. They continue to prioritize and develop eco-conscious farming and winemaking, exploring new methods and always looking for new solutions to the environmental problems we face.

“Quality is not a state, it’s a path.” With the spirit of a “wine explorer” they continue pushing innovation in the vineyards, sowing and planting a culture of diversification.

Beyond their blood ties, the family opens up to all and gives the best they and their terroirs have to offer. We raise our hats to the united talents of these people who are pledged to the care of the planet, considered to be on loan from future generations.

ITALY

We found Marco and his family through mutual connections in Italy. His family has been on the forefront of pioneering certified organic farming and winemaking in Italy since the late 1990’s.

As soon as our discussions began, we became fast friends through our mutual passions for family, the evolving business of wine, and organic and regenrative farming. Our energies synced right away.

Why did they decide to farm organically? Because they saw it as the most direct way to decrease their environmental impact from the beginning of the production cycle. Without using pesticides and herbicides, the biodiversity in the vineyards booms and many local species thrive in this less polluted environment. The rich biodynamic environment in the soils and vineyards is what makes the fruit so special.

Now into their 6th generation, our Italian partners continue to expand their network of organic vineyards and further develop their biodiversity and cultivation methods throughout Italy.

Wine & culture

The cultivation of wine largely began in the Mediterranean thousands of years ago. The Med is our special place and we spend much of our time there creating the wines we love, with wonderful partners that share our passion.

Ingredients Matter

We grow our wines using the power of nature, without additives. Medly wines only contain the juice from organic grapes, yeasts (the special organisms that convert sugars into alcohol), and minimal sulfites. That's it.
